Обследовано 155 больных ЭГ в возрасте 30-70 лет. Проведено общеклиническое обследование, определение ряда биохимических показателей: уровня сахара и креатинина крови и липидного спектра (уровни ЛПНП, ЛПВП и триглицеридов), дуплексное сканирование сонных артерий, определение жесткости артерий методом контурного анализа пульсовой волны.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. Индекс аугментации, наряду с возрастом, явился независимым фактором риска наличия атеросклероза сонных артерий у больных ЭГ, а также выраженности его проявлений.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Objective</title><p>Objective. Study of the possibility of predicting atherosclerosis of carotid arteries on the basis of the augmentation index in patients with essential hypertension.</p></sec><sec><title>Material and methods</title><p>Material and methods. A total of 155 patients with EH in the age range 30-70 years. A physical examination, identification of a number of biochemical parameters: glucose and creatinine and blood lipid (LDL, HDL and triglycerides), duplex scanning of carotid arteries, the definition of arterial stiffness by pulse wave contour analysis.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results.
